Whois

the /whois command on IRC is used to query the server for information about a client. When submitting logs to the network administration, it is important to include the output from the /whois command.

The syntax for this command is as follows:
/whois nickname
where nickname is the chat handle of the person about whom you wish to obtain information.

Below is a couple of whois reports. The information presented could be different depending on the person and their status on the server.

[edit] Normal User

this person is a normal user; that is, they have no special privileges on the server. this is the type of report you will include with logs, if you are submitting an abuse report; unless, you are reporting an abusive admin!
