Section 1. Changes in the Ignore System

One change made to the tIRC Ignore System is the ability to specify an expiration time. This means that you can tell the system to unignore someone after a certain amount of time. The neat thing about the new expiration system is that if you were to close tIRC and restart the program after a certain amount of time has gone buy, the ignore system will resume it's counting before you closed the program. The ignore system's commands have also changed. You are now able to choose whether you want dialogs or a command line to ignore someone.

Section 2. How to Add Ignores

To add an ignore you must use the following command: /addignore [-g] <host mask> <time> <reason>
If you specify the -g switch, you will be presented with dialogs that ask for the nickname, the time and the reason.
If you do not specify the -g switch, you can enter these parameters right on the command line. <Host mask> is the host mask of the person you want to ignore. <Time> is the amount of time you want to ignore someone. <Reason> is the reason you give for ignoring this person.
For the time parameter, you can give a number followed by "S" for seconds, "M" for minutes, "H" for hours, "D" for days and "W" for weeks.
Note: You can not use these time switches together.
Example: /addignore *@*lol.net 1m go away
This would ignore *@*lol.net for one minute for the reason "go away."

When using the dialogs, please enter a nickname.  The system will automatically find its hostname.

Section 3. How to Remove Ignores

To remove an ignore, type the following: /remignore <host mask>.
This will remove the host mask you specify from the ignore list.
Note: If you add someone to your ignore list with /addignore, it is not a good idea to manually remove it with the mIRC command, /ignore -r <host mask.> This is because, if the ignore has not expired yet and you restart mIRC, the ignore will be added to the ignore list.
