tIRC Changes File -- Original Creation Date: 19 May 2004 mo ace NOTE: You can find changes to older versions in the changes.old.txt file. The file was becoming too large for Notepad; thus, forcing me to create a new file. IMPORTANT: to see what has been updated, added, or changed in the version you are using, use your word processors "search" function and search for the version number. For example, to search for changes I have made to version 1.0, in the search box, type: version 1.0 version 3.1binLaden 5/1/04 * Added a feature that lets you turn on or off speech for a certain window. You go to any window you want. To enable speech, you press control f5. To disable speech, you press control f6 (requested by Cutiecat.) * I began work on the multy user system; this is not by any means complete. * Made it so that tIRC starts up maximized; this has been requested by a few people. * Increased the size of the nickname list so it could show longer nicknames. Thanks Cat! * tIRC now speaks colors in messages. * Added a simbol printing command. You press control f2, select a simbol to print and press enter. The simbol will be written at the position of the cursor as if you had typed it yourself. * I changed control f5 and control f6 to shift f5 and shift f6. This is because control f6 is used for switching windows. * changed shift f5 (speak topics) to control f5 * Ladyarwen is now pronounced properly--Lady Arwen (requested by Ace.) 5/2/04 * I fixed a bug where the %runtimes variable wasn't being increased. This means that tIRC was telling the user that they have ran the program only one time. * tIRC no longer shows the agent; I have found that this uses up less ram on my system. * tIRC now greets you when you load it. * I changed the default speech settings. The speed is 230, the pitch is 100 and the volume is 65535. * I added a new action in the tIRC actions/hurt submenu (Throw in Ocean.) * I fixed a bug where you couldn't disable speech for a DCC window. * (ace) Added menu item and command-line options for controlling the announcing of colours. * Fixed problems where colors weren't being stripped. 5/6/04 * Fixed a bug where symbols weren't being placed at the cursor position * added the alerter system * When you join a channel, tIRC does a "who" command on the channel. This is so the IAL list can be filled up. We will need this in the future clone script. 5/8/04 * Added password protection to tIRC. * changed shift f3 key a bit. * Added a countdown timer. To access, press shift f7 to get into the stopwatch window. Then press the # sign. * Fixed a bug where it still asked you for a password, even after you answered no to the "first time setup" dialog. 5/12/04 * fixed a bug where tIRC wasn't speaking actions in DCC chats 5/13/04 * I added the /sayignores command. This command lets you decide if you want to allow the announcing of ignroes to the channel. "/sayignores on" turns on the announcing of ignores, "/sayignores off" turns them off. 5/19/04 * added Eloquence support into tIRC. tIRC now comes with it's own character that uses the Eloquence speech synthesizer. * tIRC now asks you if you want to use Eloquence on startup. * Now says "binLaden" correctly. * Now says Dyana correctly. * Preparing for release... tIRC version 3.2 5/21/04 * (While I should have been sleeping), I fixed a bug where the Eloquence agent was not being loaded because two back-slashes weren't being used in the program path and there were no quotes around the path. * When you press f2, agent does not speak the "reloading agent..." message before it has unloaded. This is so that if you reconfigure your agent, you can just press f2 to reload it. * We now require that the version of agent you have on your computer is 2.0. If you use a version earlier than 2.0, tIRC will just exit. 5/30/04 * Fixed a bug resulting in f8 not clearing all windows (reported by Cutiecat.) 6/1/04 * Fixed a bug where the %speech on/off variable and the variable that holds punctuation were the same. 6/4/04 * Fixed an ASL bug resulting in incorrect information being sent. * added a language translation script that uses Babelfish to translate text. * Added a dictionary script which uses dict.org's dictionary server. To look up a word, it's /dict * Added a /setalarm command. The syntax is, /setalarm
