Enabling Direct Memory Access for CD Burners 1. Go to the Start menu, then to Settings, then to Control Panel. 2. From the list that pops up, arrow to "System" and press enter. 3. Press control-tab once to change the page view to "Device Manager." 4. Tab to the tree-view where the first item you will find is "My Computer." 5. Press the letter C until you hear "CD-ROM" or "CD-ROM Drive". You should only have to press it once. 6. Press the right-arrow key to expand (open) it. 7. Arrow down until you hear the name of your CD-burner (once if you have just one CD-ROM drive; possibly more if you have more than one.) 8. Once you are on your CD-burner, press tab once to the "Properties" button. 9. Press enter to invoke it. 10. Press control-tab to switch the page view to the "Settings" page. You may only have to press it once depending on your configuration. 11. Press tab until you hear "Options DMA" (this is a check box) press the space bar to check it. 12. A warning dialog box appears. Simply accept it and move to the next step. 13. Tab to the "OK" button and press the enter key. You will be placed back onto the "Properties" button. 14. Tab to the "OK" button and press enter. 15. If you are prompted to restart your computer, you should do so or else the changes will not take effect. Close all running programs and allow the system to be rebooted. Good luck!
